10:28 am - WCNY-FM
Hi! I have a question that's kind of a shot in the dark, but I'd still like to try to find any clues toward an answer.

I no longer live in the Syracuse area, but my parents still do. I'd like to be able to get my father a WCNY-FM or CLASSIC-FM t-shirt (he's a huge fan of both), but cannot find them anywhere! I realize that NPR stations sometimes give these as a thank-you gift for a pledge, but there's no indication of such a drive going on now, nor any indication of where I may purchase one. I'm fine with donating, as I do for my local NPR station (WUNC) anyway.

Do these exist? Does anyone know where I may be able to find one, without having to travel up there myself? I'm unable to find one online. I'm happy to call stores and/or make alternate shipping arrangements if necessary.

Also, pretend that the above question is re-written with WRVO exchanged for WCNY. The same question still applies - either is fine.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

07:56 am - ATTN: people with a .edu email address
Amazon is offering a free 1 year subscription to Amazon Prime (Free 2 day shipping, $3.99 overnight shipping): http://amzn.to/bSH8jP

This is being marketed towards college students but all you need is a valid .edu email address, so teachers and alumni can benefit from this too!

Now is a time that I wish I was still in college. Oh well, what can you do?

05:25 am - Dog-friendly swimming holes?
Hi, I just adopted a lab/pit mix this past fall and I'm trying to train him for DockDogs (he jumps. everywhere.), and thus, being a city-dweller means I have no access to large bodies of water. I have a car and can drive and stuff, no problem! But does anyone know of some dog-friendly beaches and swimming holes, public docks, etc, that I can train and swim with my dog? I also love to swim and I think it would be fun to go swimming with him. :)

Also, are there any restaurants with outdoor seating, etc, that are dog friendly? It would be fun to go to a restaurant and be able to order lunch and get him a snack too.. basically I want to be able to go out to eat with friends and such but still be able to take the pup! Bonding and all. :)

Thanks in advance.

05:26 pm - Bar for watching hockey?
Does anyone have a bar that they would recommend watching Sunday's gold medal hockey game at? In the past I have had bad luck watching games in the area, probably because hockey season coincides with basketball season and it doesn't take a genius to know which would take preference in Syracuse,

06:57 pm - House for rent
219 Gere Avenue single family home in Syracuse, between Tipp Hill and Solvay.   This house has driveway parking, a small yard, comes with a refrigerator and stove.  There are laundry hookups in the basement.  Has kitchen/dining room combo with breakfast bar, the HUGEST BATHROOM EVER.  House could be used as a 3 bedroom.  It's either a 3 bedroom with a tiny living room or a 2 bedroom with a large living room!

We are looking for people with no evictions.  We do allow pets but sorry no pit bulls or fighting breeds of dogs due to insurance reasons.  You don't have to have perfect credit.  You do need to have a legal source of income.

This is an excellent price for a single family home.  This house was rented before and the deal fell through so we reduced the price a bit.  We just want long term (1 year minimum) stable tenants who will take care of the place.

We do have other rental properties including a 4 bedroom house in the valley/OCC area and lots of apartments throughout Syracuse too.

I can't seem to get the photos to show up here but please visit our Syracuse Rental Properties site to see photos (scroll down).  You can call me for more info at 315-935-6303

Current Location: United States, Syracuse, Tompkins St, 533
